World of Birds in Hout Bay near Cape Town is the largest aviary in Africa. It is one of Cape Town’s biggest tourist attractions featuring over 400 species from Africa and all over the world.
Although it is great to be up close and personal with so many birds, it was also quite heart-breaking to see many of them unable to fly about in their natural habitat. On the other hand, World of Birds supports many conservation projects and rescues many injured birds, who would otherwise be left to die in the wild.
